The U.S. Health and Human Services Department has begun its search for a new Chief Information Officer.

The position is part of the career Senior Executive Service (SES), a small group of senior government leaders across organizations, and acts as the department’s senior official for IT. The position will also serve as the HHS CIO Council chair and co-chair of the Administrative and Management, Scientific Research, and Health and Human Services steering committees.

This announcement comes two months after HHS lost its previous CIO, Frank Baitman, who worked to establish HHS within the 2014 FITARA guidelines.

The position pays $123,175 to $185,100 and applications are open until March 5.
