The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has awarded a $110 million Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) task order to General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT).

GDIT will provide VA with 24/7/365 Tier 1 IT and tech support services to more than 500,000 VA personnel at all of the agency’s U.S.-based locations.  The contract features one six-month base period, four one-year option periods, and one six-month option period.

“The company will also implement remote automation tools and knowledge management platforms to support self-service requests and improve customer experience,” GDIT said.

GDIT has supported the VA Enterprise Service Desk since 2018, and provides a range of other services to the agency including enterprise security services, and digitizing veteran records.

Kamal Narang, GDIT’s vice president and general manager for Federal Health, said the latest task order “will enhance service delivery, reduce cost, and improve the quality of IT services for all VA personnel.”

“We are looking forward to collaborating with the VA to create an interactive user experience that is easy, effective, and personalized,” Narang said.
