Preliminary findings on the Multiple Awards Schedule (MAS) Consolidated Solicitation Requests for Information (RFI) revealed that a strong majority of the industry community believes that the proposed solicitation format is clear and beneficial to the industry.
The General Services Administration (GSA) received 586 completed responses to its solicitation format and terms and conditions RFI, as well as 480 completed responses for the large category, subcategory, and special items number (SIN) RFI. Within those responses 94 percent of contractors agreed that the proposed solicitation format is clear, while 88 percent agree that it will be a benefit to the industry and “nearly” 88 percent agree that it will provide a benefit to Federal agency customers.
Among other findings from the initial report include: 78 percent agree with the mapping of current SINs to new SINs, 91 percent of perspective offerors agree that the large categories are clear, and over 88 percent of responses agreed with clauses that were proposed to be excluded from the consolidated solicitation.
“The MAS [Project Management Office] is committed to crafting the final solicitation with all of the industry feedback in mind,” GSA said in a blog post. “We are targeting October 1, 2019, to release the final solicitation to prospective contractors.” Following the solicitation release, GSA will have a 30-day notice posted to the MAS Interact group.
