The Department of Defense (DoD) is looking for industry to help provide the Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC) with new “integrated realistic training environment” capabilities, according to a recently published contract opportunity.
The Pentagon is looking for Air Combat Training System (ACTS) Services to serve the Air Force in helping train servicemen in “support of on-site and off-site aircrew/ground support crew training,” said the contract opportunity.
“The need for continued service will enable the ACTS mission to keep abreast of real-world threats through cutting-edge training, operation, maintenance, sustainment, and technical support for ACTS,” DoD said.
The agency added that the “environment to support ACTS takes place on ranges operated on Federal installations with numerous military components.”
The department is seeking help from firms who can provide these advanced technological needs due to the commercial industry not having “developed the unique combination of skill sets required to support, operate, and maintain an active live fire military range [at scale],” said the agency.
Providers of the service will ultimately supply the operations, maintenance, and repair the ACTS missions when needed or necessary.
All interested parties must submit their offers by Oct. 16.
