The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has awarded Cisco a new $1.18 billion contract, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced June 14.

Under the contract award, Cisco will be responsible for providing its Smart Net Total Care and software support services to DoD users.

Cisco was chosen out of three received proposals submitted to Beta.SAM.gov. The deal is a single-award contract, but it will have an indefinite quantity with a ceiling of $1,180,185,116.

Cisco bills its Smart Net Total Care product as a quicker way to resolve IT issues, a way to reduce risk, and a tool to “increase operational efficiency,” according to its site. The contract also gives DISA access to Cisco’s technical assistance center 24/7 all year round.

The contract will run for three total years, structured as a base year with two option years, according to the DoD announcement.
