Mark James
U.S. Customs and Border Patrol
As the current Cloud Director of Customs Border & Protection, Office of Information Technology, Mr. Mark James has over 26 years of senior, technical, managerial and executive leadership in private industry and U.S. Government.
Mr. James has a broad background in network and systems engineering, information security, operations, and service delivery. He previously served as Director of Customs and Border Protection Cloud Center of Excellence, as well as the Deputy Executive Director of Enterprise Infrastructure and Operations Directorate of the Office of Information Technology at CBP. He is responsible for establishing CBP’s Cloud Center of Excellence which provided framework to migrate 83% of CBP mission applications to cloud to date.
Mr. James has been recognized as an industry leader through awards and dual nominee to “2021 Fedscoop 50” Tech Champion of the year and Federal Leadership. He has been widely recognized for his contributions, having been named a winner of the 2022 AFFIRM Leadership Awards, and a recent recipient of the 2024 Federal 100 and Service to the Citizen Award.
