Juliane Gallina

IBM

Juliane Gallina oversees Key Accounts within IBM US Federal. Her clients constitute the set of anchor clients for the US Federal business unit. She leads a team of IBM professionals who connect core IBM clients to the breadth and depth of IBM technology offerings, with a focus on cloud and cognitive computing.

Her career-long focus has been to develop and adapt first-of-a-kind technologies for national security applications. Juliane Gallina has led IBM engagements for the US and global governments to develop analytic technology for national security purposes. She led the first IBM Watson implementation program after the IBM Research Jeopardy! grand challenge. Her team’s mission-focused solutions blended cognitive computing with traditional analytics and technology components to create solutions for enduring challenges and hard problems. Previous to her career with IBM, she served as a government engineer assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) with a focus on the design, development, deployment and operations of national space and ground systems. In parallel with her civilian career, Ms. Gallina served as a US naval officer with a specialization in cryptology and information warfare. In 2013, she retired from the US Navy (Reserve) as a Commander.

Juliane Gallina joined the IBM Industry Academy in 2017 bringing IBM’s government industry eminence to a variety of partnerships with government and non-governmental organizations. Ms. Gallina graduated with honors from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1992. She graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School in 1998 with a Masters Degree in Space Systems. She earned a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University in 2006. She lives in Virginia, with her husband and their three children, two parents, three dogs and all the joy that comes with a busy family.
