Josh Salmanson leads the Digital Modernization Sector Defensive Cyber Practice, driving innovative and resilient cybersecurity solutions. His team identifies, incubates, and curates repeatable offerings, championing the repeatability of best-in-class tools and techniques across the organization – integrating automation, speed, scalability, and security.
Salmanson brings extensive expertise with over 30 years of technology, sales, and business leadership experience, with a proven track record of guiding multiple organizations to achieve and exceed strategic growth objectives. As a trusted CTO at Lockheed Martin for a decade, he played a pivotal role in driving innovations and success and subsequently held executive positions at Parsons, NCI, ECS, and Telos, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader.
From a technical operations perspective, Salmanson brings hands-on experience in the full lifecycle development of mission-critical systems and solutions at both national and global scales. His expertise spans all elements of the Federal Information Technology spectrum, with Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence Community customers, including multiple National Labs, and public/private partnerships – providing him with significant insights that drive innovation and operational excellence.
Before joining Leidos, Salmanson served as senior vice president with Telos Corporation, where he led a 120-person technology solutions organization. Under his leadership, the team advanced the state-of-the-art in cyber threat intelligence (CTI) by blending the traditional intelligence cycle with cutting-edge CTI capabilities. This approach provided cyber teams with the actionable, easy-to-understand intelligence derived from global internet activity of adversaries and criminal organizations prior to it reaching the enterprise.
Salmanson is an active member of Concurrent Technology Corporations’ technical advisory board, Whamtech Corporation’s board, and a Certified Boardroom “Qualified Technical Expert” from the Digital Directors Network, marking his expertise in cyber and systemic risk management.
