Heather Dyer

Heather Dyer, a 25-year postal employee, was named vice president and chief information security officer for the U.S. Postal Service in January 2023. In this position, she leads cybersecurity program governance and policy, cybersecurity risk and vulnerability management, cybersecurity engineering, identity and access management, and a 24/7 year-round cybersecurity operations group.

Prior to this role, she was the director of Retail, overseeing more than $31 billion in revenue and 33,000 post offices, focusing on improving the customer experience and growing revenue. Previous positions include manager, Mail Entry, overseeing large commercial mailing and shipping customers, streamlining revenue verification, and simplifying the mailing industry experience. She also served in several leadership roles, as a business mailer support analyst, postmaster, and delivery supervisor.

Heather is a graduate of multiple leadership classes, including the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program, Executive Foundations, and Senior Executive Assessment Program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in management information systems and a Master of Science in cybersecurity management and policy.
