Andrew Onello

Andrew Onello is the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (DCISO) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the USCIS Information Security Division ensuring that the security vision is attained within scheduled timeframes while remaining on budget and utilizing current resourcing. The Division provides services ranging from identity and access management, governance, training, security operations, incident response, forensics, security architecture, security engineering, continuous diagnostics and mitigation, risk management, and security authorization.
Prior to joining USCIS, Mr. Onello managed the Cybersecurity Section at DHS Headquarters where he had been previously supporting the Information Technology Services Office as a contractor for both Creative Computing Solutions Inc and Booz Allen Hamilton. Mr. Onello has extensive information technology experience leading investigations as part of the incident response team at AOL LLC and public service while serving as a Police Officer in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Mr. Onello has a Bachelor of Science from the Virginia Military Institute.
