Insider attacks pose a constant threat to the critical data entrusted to our government – nearly half of federal agencies have been targeted. The need to prepare for attacks from authorized insiders has added complexity to cybersecurity strategies. NIST’s Cybersecurity Framework has provided agencies with a set of industry standards and best practices to help manage cybersecurity risks, but new attack vectors are emerging every day. How are agencies monitoring user activity to prevent accidental – or intentional – misuse or exfiltration of their high valued assets? Are agency CISOs leveraging the resources of the Cybersecurity Framework to address insider threat prevention and detection? Is anything restricting agencies from properly monitoring insider threat activity – budget, personnel, technology, all of the above?

Join MeriTalk for an off-the-record executive breakfast to discuss the latest on insider threats. To RSVP, please contact Kristen Vretakis at kvretakis@meritalk.com or call (703) 883-9000 ext 149.
