The General Services Administration (GSA) today announced the award of its Second Generation Information Technology (2GIT) Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) that have an estimated value of $5.5 billion over five years.

GSA announced the award of the BPAs to 75 industry partners – 56 of which are small businesses. The 2GIT BPAs replace the expiring NETCENTS-2 IT Products contracts, and deliver a streamlined process for purchasing IT hardware and software through GSA Advantage. The BPAs are available for use by all Federal agencies, as well as state, local, and tribal entities.

“The 2GIT program is a great example of how GSA is developing IT solutions that help the Federal government meet its mission-critical needs,” said GSA Assistant Commissioner of IT Category Bill Zielinski in a news release. “2GIT also demonstrates GSA’s commitment to working in true partnership with our customer agencies to help them navigate complex acquisition and IT modernization challenges with solutions that will evolve to deliver on government’s current and future needs.”

To meet procurement policies and incorporate best practices, agencies can use 2GIT for support in “the collection of prices paid-data, the ability to track savings, and reduction in costs and administrative burden,” GSA said. 2GIT also provides services from pre-vetted industry partners including supply chain risk management assurances, on-site and virtual customer support, and training.
