The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Lytwaive Hutchinson will be stepping down from her position, a FEMA spokesperson confirmed to MeriTalk.

FEMA did not say when Hutchinson’s last day will be or if there will be an interim CIO appointed, but did say the agency will “make additional announcements about the position at a later time.”

Before joining FEMA in April 2019, Hutchinson served as the vice director of the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Joint Service Provider organization.

Hutchinson joined the Defense Department’s Washington Headquarters Services in 2002 after retiring from 21 years as an active duty member of the U.S. Army.

FEMA has posted the open CIO position on USAJobs.gov, saying the CIO “is responsible for formulation, development, execution, and oversight of FEMA’s IT and cyber management program.”

Applications for the CIO position are due by April 12. The pay range is $163,333 to $203,700 per year.
